Bilaa - abalone

Bilaa is an important part of our history. Since it came by trade from Southern California, it was considered of high value and only the Simoogits and Sigidimhanaaks (Chiefs and Matriarchs) and their children were given the privilege to wear it.  Bilaa was a symbol of high status and wealth!
